Veteran Telugu actor Chandra Mohan passed away earlier today at the age of 80. He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad when he breathed his last.

Chandra Mohan, whose real name was Mallampalli Chandrasekhara Rao, made his acting debut with the 1966 film ‘Rangula Ratnam‘. He went on to act in over 300 films in a career spanning 5 decades. Some of his most notable works were in films like ‘Padaharella Vayasu‘, ‘Siri Siri Muvva‘ and ‘Athanokkade‘.
The senior actor was beloved by fans for his impeccable dialogue delivery and acting chops. He played a variety of roles including lead protagonist, supporting actor and antagonistic characters with equal panache. His on-screen pairing with legendary actress Savitri garnered immense popularity.

Chandra Mohan was born on 23rd May 1943 in Pamidimukkala, a small village in Andhra Pradesh. His birth name was Mallampalli Chandrasekhara Rao. He comes from a Telugu Brahmin family. He has a brother named Chinnayya and an elder sister named Satyavathi.
He is married to Jalandhara and has two daughters with her. Chandra Mohan is the cousin of renowned filmmaker K. Viswanath. He lives with his wife Jalandhara in Hyderabad.
Chandra Mohan was active in the Telugu film industry until recently. His last major role was in the 2021 social drama ‘Bangaru Bullodu’ alongside megastar Allu Arjun.
