Ranbir Kapoor’s Shocking Remark on Animal: It’s An Adult Rated Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham
This is How Ranbir Kapoor Shockingly Described His Film Animal – His Words Will Leave You Stunned!
Ranbir Kapoor recently made an interesting comparison between his highly anticipated upcoming film Animal and the classic family drama Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham while speaking at a trailer launch event. He described Animal as an “adult-rated Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.“
The Core Theme of Animal Centers Around Family Bonds Like K3G
When asked to describe the core theme of Animal, Ranbir said that just like K3G, the film revolves around family and explores family relationships. However, he added that Animal depicts more complex adult themes and content compared to the lighthearted family entertainer K3G.
“Animal is basically the adult-rated Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. If I had to describe this story in a line, then it’s about a man who goes to any length to protect his family. That’s what the core of the film is,” said Ranbir.
So while both films have family and family ties at their core, Animal seems to present a darker, more mature exploration of family bonds.
Ranbir’s Character in Animal Is The Most Complex He Has Played
Speaking further about his role, Ranbir revealed that he portrays the most complex character of his career in Animal. He mentioned that his character cannot simply be labelled as “dark” but has many layers of complexity.
“On his character, Ranbir also said that he won’t call it “darkness but it is the most complex character I have played”,” noted Ranbir.
So it seems like Ranbir’s fans can expect an intense, nuanced performance from him in Animal as he brings an intricate, three-dimensional character to life on screen.

The Film Explores Themes of Violence and Morality
Ranbir also explained that the backdrop of violence serves to explore deeper themes of morality, the human psyche, and the fine line between right and wrong.
“Violence is about the mind, what it thinks, what the human mind is capable of? What is right or wrong, where society is concerned? Is Bobby sir the antagonist or I am the antagonist? Who is right, who is wrong? These are questions as a society, audience, we will start asking after this film,” elaborated Ranbir.
So the film seems to go beyond sensationalizing violence to ask profound ethical questions about human nature and moral ambiguity.
Ranbir and Bobby Connected Instantly Due to Their Punjabi Roots
Ranbir mentioned that he instantly struck a warm friendship with his co-star Bobby Deol as both hail from Punjabi families. He fondly recalled braving extreme cold weather while shooting bare-bodied scenes but still feeling warmth because of the strong bond between them.
“Talking about Bobby Deol, Ranbir said that he grew up watching him. He added that when he got a chance to work with Bobby he realised they were similar as people. Ranbir said that as both are Punjabis, so there was an instant connection,” stated Ranbir.
So it’s clear that Ranbir not only forged an effortless chemistry with Bobby on screen but also shared an endearing off-screen camaraderie with his senior co-star.
With its high-voltage star cast, raw action sequences, and topical themes around violence and relationships – Animal promises to offer a uniquely intense cinematic experience for audiences when it releases on December 1. Ranbir’s mature performance coupled with the film’s shades of moral ambiguity seem poised to spark thought-provoking conversation and discussion after its release.
